Niederlassungserlaubnis – settlement permit 

The “settlement permit” (Niederlassungserlaubnis) is the second residence title covered by the Immigration Act. The settlement permit has permanent validity and entitles holders to exercise gainful employment. People applying for a settlement permit have to satisfy specific requirements which are laid down in the Immigration Act.
