Do you manage a company and have had vacancies for some time for which you cannot find suitable professionals? Then it might be worthwhile for you to take a look abroad.
The new provisions of the Skilled Immigration Act improve the employment opportunities for qualified internationals from third countries. Professionals will now not only be defined as university graduates but also as employees with qualified vocational training. They can work as a professional in an occupation that matches their acquired qualifications.
The guide "How can I recruit a qualified professional from abroad? What employers need to know" explains in compact form all legal provisions concerning the employment of skilled workers from abroad.
If you would particularly like to hire nursing staff from abroad, the Federal Employment Agency can help you. You can find further information on hiring care workers in the section "Labour market admission of certain groups of people".
Support is also available from the Federal Employment Agency (BA), which can advise you on this topic by calling +49 (0) 228 713-1313.
Support programme for employees from the EU
EURES, the largest network for job mobility within the EU, can help you and your company. EURES supports fair and sustainable job mobility across borders and helps remove existing obstacles. The Targeted Mobilty Schemes (TMS) support programme is part of this EURES strategy. The Targeted Mobility Schemes aim to bring together suitable applicants and hard-to-fill vacancies. They facilitate mobility, job search and recruitment in Europe through advice and financial support. Several TMS projects are also currently being implemented in Germany.
A TMS-supported integration program may be just the right thing for you and your new employees to master the first steps together. Through systematic support, integration programs in your company create good conditions for people to feel comfortable in the company and in their new social environment. The advisors in the Virtual Welcome Center (VWC) will show you the way forward.
Further information on the support programme can be found here.
