Your options:

You can come to Germany with a foreign university degree even if you do not have a binding job offer yet. The visa for jobseekers is a good solution for this.

When applying for a visa, you must prove that your foreign university degree is equivalent to a German university degree. Therefore, you should contact the responsible German foreign mission in order to find out how to prove the equivalence of your university degree.

You can get more information about the procedure for assessing the equivalence of university degrees in the Recognition section.

Tip

Start your job search now and find a suitable job offer on the "Make it in Germany" job listings.

The following information might help you with your visa application:

As soon as you have found a suitable and binding job offer in Germany, you can apply for a residence permit for qualified employment or, under certain conditions, for the EU Blue Card, without having to leave the country first.

Please be aware

Special regulations apply to citizens of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia regarding the access to the German labour market.
