Employing a workforce of 350, InnoGames GmbH develops online games in Hamburg. The employees come from around 30 different countries. International qualified professionals are crucial for product development, as 90 percent of the players also come from outside Germany.
InnoGames has its own recruiting team which assists its international staff at all stages – from the first contact to their arrival at the company, each international staff member has his or her personal mentor. The formalities surrounding visas, immigration and recruitment are handled on a case-by-case basis. After his or her arrival in Germany, a flat belonging to the company is put at the disposal of the staff member. What’s more, a relocation partner takes care of finding further accommodation and helps in the search for nurseries or schools, for example.
At InnoGames, they take the term “welcoming culture” in its most literal sense: new staff are greeted with a “welcome party” where they get to know the whole team. A structured induction programme and a Wiki platform on the intranet help them get off to a good start in their job. In addition, InnoGames offers group activities to foster the employees' social integration and help them get used to their new life in Hamburg.
InnoGames practises a truly welcoming culture and assists international qualified professionals with an all-round mentorship package. Great importance is also placed on their social integration. For this reason, InnoGames was awarded the 2015 Success in Diversity award by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy.

"90 percent of our users come from abroad. This is why it is hugely advantageous to employ people from those countries too. It gives us a better understanding of the cultures of our customers."
