Brief newsletter: June 2025
Dear Readers,
welcome to the new issue of the ‘Make it in Germany’ brief newsletter!

In this issue, we present our updated content on the topic of vocational training, as companies are increasingly recruiting apprentices from third countries in addition to skilled workers. There is also news for those who already have a foreign qualification: the digital application for recognition is available for more and more occupations. You will also find some hand-picked offers from ‘Make it in Germany’s’ partners: a competition on best practices in labour market integration, and a new company network for skilled worker immigration.

We wish you an enjoyable read!

Digital application service: Recognition in industry and commerce
A digital application for the recognition of foreign qualifications is now possible for more and more professions! More than 250 professions in the German industry and commerce sector (e. g. chef) are new to the service. This possibility came with the IHK FOSA (Foreign Skills Approval: the recognition body for foreign qualifications comparable to a German profession in industry and commerce) being linked to the digital application service of the ‘Anerkennung in Deutschland’ portal. You start there with the ‘Recognition Finder’. In the last step, you will find the ‘Online application’ button.

The event will feature a panel discussion, practical insights, tips for labour market integration and opportunities for exchange. Companies are welcome to attend and become founding members.
