welcome to the latest issue of the “Make it in Germany” newsletter.

In March 2024, the amendment of the Skilled Immigration Act brought several changes into force regarding employment and the recognition of foreign qualifications. Among them was the introduction of the recognition partnership. What practical examples can be seen one year later with the new residence title?

In this newsletter, we summarise the new regulations once more and introduce a rustic country restaurant which successfully started the recognition partnership.

Read the story of chef Thi Thía Lê from Vietnam, who now works in an country restaurant in the Thuringian Forest. Via the recognition partnership, she was able to take up her new employment even before the recognition procedure was initiated in Germany. The owner of the inn is very content with his new skilled worker.

2nd Kenyan - German Labour Mobility Job Fair
The Delegation of German Industry and Commerce for Eastern Africa (AHK Eastern Africa) is organising a two-day job fair in Nairobi for the second time from 6-7 May 2025. Participating companies will have the opportunity to meet qualified professionals with certified German language skills. Kenyan professionals from the fields of healthcare, hospitality, IT, logistics and the industrial-technical professions, including skilled trades, will be on site. Participation is limited to 40 companies and recruitment agencies. The closing date for registration is 1 April 2025.
