The Chamber of Industry and Commerce is the body representing the interests of trade and industry and is a body governed by public law ("Körperschaft des öffentlichen Rechts"). All businesses except the manual trades (which are covered by the Chambers of Crafts, the “Handwerkskammer”) in a given area are members of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce for that area.
