Tuition fees

In Germany, the general tuition fees were abolished in 2014; however, there are exceptions, e.g., private universities. Currently, universities charge a semester fee from students at the beginning of every semester for re-registration. The semester fee often includes a semester ticket for public transport, as well as contributions to the student union and administrative costs. The all-over amount and composition depend on the individual institution.
