Sea-Watch is looking for a Navigational Watch Officer (f/m/d)
Start: End of December 2025 | Rotation: 2 months on / 2 months off
Contract: 4 months total (2 on, 2 off, option to extend) Salary: €3,400/month gross (possible increases based on experience, family needs, disability, years of service) Sea-Watch e.V. is a non-profit initiative for civil sea rescue in the central Mediterranean. We provide emergency aid, demand rescue by European institutions, and stand for safe escape routes. We are politically and religiously independent, funded by donations.
We’re looking for a deck officer (role as 2nd or 3rd Officer will be assigned based on experience, qualifications, and team composition). You should enjoy working in a diverse team where trust and skills guide responsibilities.
Tasks
2nd Officer
· Voyage planning, chart/publication updates, GMDSS maintenance
· Bridge watchkeeping and navigation safety
· Deck logbook entries, compliance with regulations
· Mooring station duties as assigned
3rd Officer
· Assist with safety checks and voyage preparation
· Manage bridge office inventories and orders

Your profile
· Valid STCW A-II/1 Certificate of Competence (German or on the White List of the German flag)
· Valid GMDSS General Operators Certificate (STCW A-IV/2)
· Good English skills, MS Excel/Word knowledge
· Strong, respectful team player with good communication skills
· Able to work/live in a diverse 30-person crew, some with limited nautical experience
· Physical and mental resilience
