What to Expect

The Hardware Test team is seeking a highly motivated intern to own program management tasks and keep the team coordinated. You will focus on maintaining timelines, managing communication and ensuring alignment across test and development teams. You will work closely with senior engineers and leaders to ensure programs are a success in a fast-paced environment. At Tesla, scope and complexity of your assignments are limited by your aptitude, not seniority or title.

What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate test readiness for engineering programs in Berlin including deployment of lab equipment and safety procedures and coordination of staff.
  • Create task lists, trackers and dashboards and schedules in Jira and Confluence and follow-up with stakeholders on progress and blockers.
  • Summarize information and distill key takeaways for technical team and leadership.
  • Support process improvement initiatives by observing workflows identifying potential bottlenecks and documenting findings for team review. Escalate appropriately.
  • Assist in organizing cross-functional meetings and workshops by preparing agendas taking detailed notes and tracking action items.
  • Help maintain and organize program documentation in shared repositories to ensure information is up to date and accessible to team members.
  • Collaborate with test technicians and engineers.
  • Contribute to organizational tasks & responsibilities like creation & maintenance of procedures, SOPs, standards, equipment, inspections, lab commissioning, facilities, maintenance and staff trainings.
  • Acquire knowledge about relevant industry standards, testing guidelines, and norms.
  • Role requires working in-person in a lab environment.
  • Other tasks as required. 

What You’ll Bring

  • Pursuing a degree in a relevant field (Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, Chemical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, Business administration or similar) with focus on project and program management.
  • Proven success as a leader through extracurricular activities, academic projects, passion projects, or equivalent experiences.
  • Project management experience is required.
  • Solid grasp on engineering fundamentals, such as thermal dynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, mechanics and electronics.
  • Systems level thinker with evidence of driving optimization across products, disciplines and teams.
  • A detail-oriented personality with solid technical documentation and reporting skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.
  • Fluency in English; German is a plus.
  • Exceptional organization and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Familiarity with Jira and Confluence and Agile project management methods is a plus.
