Overview: The PCB Designer at TUR GmbH will be responsible for designing and developing printed circuit boards (PCBs) for medical devices that comply with relevant medical standards. This role requires precision and a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and medical device regulations. The position is remote and part-time. You will design reliable, efficient PCBs that meet regulatory requirements, manage procurement and supplier communication, and assist with documentation and troubleshooting during the final product maintenance phase.

Responsibilities:

• Design PCB layouts, schematics, and assembly documentation for medical devices using CAD software.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers to ensure designs meet both electrical and mechanical system requirements.
• Conduct board-level testing and validation to ensure designs meet functional specifications and regulatory compliance.
• Procure PCBs, including communication with suppliers and coordination of fabrication and delivery.
• Manage PCB fabrication and assembly from prototyping through to production.
• Document designs and manufacturing processes for future maintenance and support phases.
• Troubleshoot and provide technical support during the final product maintenance phase, identifying and resolving any issues after production.
• Stay updated on industry standards and technological advancements in PCB design.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in PCB design software such as Altium Designer, Eagle, or similar.
• Strong understanding of electronics and circuit design, especially for medical applications.
• Knowledge of industry standards for medical device PCB design, including ISO 13485 and IEC 60601.
• Experience in PCB procurement and managing supplier relationships.
• Experience in documenting designs and manufacturing processes.
• Experience in troubleshooting and providing technical support during the maintenance phase of medical devices.
• High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a remote setting and communicate effectively across different time zones.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in PCB design, preferably in the medical device industry.
• Experience with EMC compliance and medical device certification processes.
• Experience in communication and collaboration with PCB suppliers.
