loster Pforta Winery – Saale-Unstrut, Germany
Kloster Pforta is one of Germany’s most historic wine estates, with more than 900 years of winegrowing tradition. Today, we cultivate around 50 hectares of vineyards in the Saale-Unstrut region and combine this heritage with a modern, quality-focused approach to viticulture and winemaking.
For harvest 2026, we are looking for motivated and open-minded cellar assistants to join our team from early September until the end of the year.
We are particularly interested in people who appreciate precise, origin-driven wines and who are curious about a more Burgundy-inspired approach to winemaking — balancing tradition, craftsmanship and contemporary cellar work.
Your responsibilities
• Daily cellar work throughout harvest and post-harvest period • Working with stainless steel tanks and wooden barrels • Grape reception and processing • Fermentation monitoring and analysis • Racking, cleaning and general cellar operations • Maintaining high hygiene and quality standards • Supporting the cellar team in all harvest-related activities
What we are looking for
• Previous cellar and harvest experience • Logical thinking and a hands-on mentality • Open-minded attitude and willingness to learn • Interest in Burgundian-style winemaking • Reliable, practical and team-oriented personality • English required • German is not mandatory • Spanish is an advantage
What we offer
• A harvest experience at one of Germany’s historic wine estates • Work focused on quality-driven and site-driven wines • Hands-on experience with both modern and traditional cellar techniques • An international and motivated working environment • Accommodation provided • Fair compensation
Legal requirements for working in Germany
Please note that employment is only possible if you already have, or can obtain in time, the necessary permission to live and work in Germany for the entire harvest period (approximately four months).
EU/EEA/Swiss citizens: You may work in Germany without a visa or separate work permit; a valid passport or ID card is sufficient.
Non‑EU applicants: You generally need • a valid national visa or residence permit that explicitly allows employment in Germany for the period from early September until the end of the year, and • an approved work authorisation, which usually includes the consent of the German Federal Employment Agency (Bundesagentur für Arbeit).
Please indicate in your application which residence title or visa you currently hold or are able to obtain, and confirm that it includes permission to work in Germany for the duration of the harvest.
