The research group of Dr. Tânia Medeiros at the Institute of Cellular Biochemistry is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral fellow (f/m/d) Mitochondrial metabolism in cellular homeostasis and disease

About us

Our research group at the University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG) explores the dynamic coordination between mitochondria and metabolism to reveal how metabolic pathways regulate mtDNA homeostasis and mitochondrial function. The postdoctoral project will investigate how mitochondrial metabolism impacts cellular homeostasis and mitochondrial-related diseases.  We combine cell biology, advanced imaging, proteomics, metabolomics, and genetic approaches across yeast, mammalian cells and mouse models. The lab is located in a highly collaborative environment within the Göttingen Research Campus, which hosts several internationally leading institutes such as the Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences, providing a stimulating collaborative environment. Your tasks

· Conduct an independent research project within a collaborative team; · Apply and develop wet-lab experimental approaches in metabolism and cell biology; · Analyze and interpret complex datasets; · Present & communicate research results at national and international scientific meetings; · Supervision of students.

Your qualifications

· You are a curious and enthusiastic scientist who can work independently but also in a team. · Applicants should hold a PhD in the life sciences, such as molecular and cell biology, biochemistry or a related subject. · Fluent English language skills (written and spoken) are required.
